DIGNE
JOVEN (YOUNG)
PRODUCTION:
The 2009 harvest was spectacular, and these grapes were picked on 17 September. When they reached the winery they were lightly pressed in order to extract 60% of an extremely high-quality must. Alcohol fermentation at 20ºC then took place, after which the wine was returned to the vat to finish off the malolactic fermentation. Finally it was lightly filtered and then bottled.
VARIETY:
This wine is a coupage of 75% Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) and 25% Sansón (Cariñena) grapes.

DATA FROM THE FARM
The grapes that went into this wine were harvested in an area called Els Estremòls, which is located near the village of Les Masies del Torrent in the Les Peces district in the county of Baix Penedès. The zone is around 125 metres above sea level and has a slight slope of 3%. The vines were planted on 15 May 2001 in a gravelly soil that receives approximately 340 l/m2 of rainfall. The vine stock has a planting distance of 2.1 m x 1.1 m, and the land is cultivated in accordance with an innovative application of purely biodynamic principles.
